We have recently been assigned to design a comprehensive web-based portal for the programme E4D/ Employment for Development, specifically for the VET Toolbox component. The VET Toolbox provides support to countries tackling specific vocational education and training (VET) reform challenges. The website will play an important role in making the project and available support known. Energypedia consult Rwanda and MDF AC (Management Development Foundation, Afrique Centrale, mdf.nl), were happy to sign a Memorandum of Understanding in Kigali on 23rd April 2018. What does tying rope knots tell about a team? We experienced it on April 24th at the tree climbing park of Wiesbaden! While solving challenges with blindfolded eyes we learnt about the strengths of our team and where we have potential for optimization. After the workshop part we went tree climbing, not only overcoming anxiety but also having lots of fun! All in all, it was a great event to foster our team spirit!

In principle, I continue my job of the past years as M&E consultant specialized in IT solutions, just in a different country, context and position. In the coming months, Melanie, Country Director of our Rwanda office, will carry out the IT consulting assignment “Support to EnDev Rwanda in the design, planning and implementation of IT based project tools”. Its purpose is to assist the pro-poor Results-Based-Financing (RBF) component of Energising Development (EnDev) Rwanda in identifying and implementing the right IT tools to verify the eligibility of beneficiaries and to monitor the solar market in Rwanda. We are excited to start this project and are certain that we can make a valuable contribution to the RBF in Rwanda.
