GIZ is a service provider for international cooperation for sustainable development. Their main commissioning party is the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). In Senegal, GIZ is active in areas related to energy. The Senegalese-German program "Programme Energies Durables – P.E.D. II" aims at strengthening capacities of the Senegalese Ministry of Energy to promote sustainable and climate-friendly energy.

During the first stage of the program, in 2021, energypedia consult set up an interactive P.E.D. web portal on energypedia.info. The portal has allowed the program not only to gather and arrange the documentation resulting from work of the various program components, but also disseminate the experience gained to a wide range of actors in Senegal: NGOs, institutions, private sector, etc.

During the second stage of the program, we supported P.E.D. in updating and adding their new content to the platform. This included improving the design, creating new sections and categories, adapting the existing structure, and publishing relevant articles in other energypedia portals.
